My passion for flowers began when I was only four years old. I used to love picking them from our garden and arranging them in jam jars. When I was six, I remember gathering bunches of primroses in the woods with my family, which I then made into posies and sold to our neighbours. That was the start of my love of flowers - and it has remained ever since.

After leaving the corporate business world, the part of my business dealing with artificial flowers was born after trying unsuccessfully to find the finishing touches for the interior of a newly renovated home. There were numerous faux flower arrangements in the major stores at prices that made my eyes water - and the quality was questionable.

Already a very keen fresh flower arranger, I decided to develop my passion and started work on a few eye-catching artificial floral designs of my own. One of my aims was to create elegant, affordable faux flower designs for everyone at affordable prices that wouldn't break the bank. They currently range from £6 to £60; after that the sky's the limit.

My unique designs were soon admired by many people who encouraged me to expand this side of the business. I now proudly showcase my artificial flowers throughout Somerset, Dorset and Devon at numerous high-end craft fairs and prestigious events.

Commissions are warmly welcomed.

Moving on to teaching. I've been a teacher for over 30 years, won numerous awards for this and eventually turned my love of flowers into a small business. I'm proud to say I now have a successful flower school where I teach adults modern flower arranging and floral design in a very relaxed and fun environment. I also run bespoke flower arranging workshops at various venues for ladies groups, friends who just want to get together and have some fun, or for businesses who are looking for creative team-building.

It is true that you really don't need any experience to have a go at arranging flowers - nor do you need to be arty or creative. So often, absolute beginners come along who are very nervous - but they leave with a spring in their step with a beautiful design they can repeat again at home.  And very importantly, show off to their friends!

Occasionally, I do fresh flower demonstrations. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Rosemoor, Torrington in Devon chose me to demonstrate my fresh flower arrangements for them; this is something I am very proud of.
